I've been a Prince fan my whole life. My parents lived next door to Prince's tour manager in 1985 and saw Prince and the Revolution the day after they found out they were pregnant with me. I have a framed black and white photo my mom took at that concert (she snuck in her camera).
So naturally, I associate Gemini Season with Prince, 06/07.
And it's the last day of Gemini Season according to Western astrology. And according to Vedic Astrology, the Sun just moved into Gemini on June 15th.
I think many folks would be surprised that Gemini is associated with The Lovers. They tend to have a bad reputation for being cold and unemotional, but I know many Geminis that are true hopeless romantics, my brother included.
They're really looking for someone to love them for them, and they usually turn cold because they're hurt easier than they can admit. So, I thought a quote about love from one of the sexiest stone-cold artists out there, Prince, was appropriate.
This Lovers Card is from the Modern Witch Tarot by Lisa Sterle.
"Love yourself well enough to make up for anyone who doesn't." - Prince
Gemini season is so multi-faceted; it's challenging and celebratory. It can be emotional, or it can be apathetic. These reflections of light and shadow of Gemini season really had me thinking about missing my brother and my dad.
And while we will never enjoy a Prince concert together, well, I like to picture them having jam sessions with Prince in the spirit realm.
I can't help but observe the juxtaposition of grieving what we never did or will ever do with each other again & remembering all the things I'm so glad we did in our time together and how I'm constantly reminded that we are still connected.
My brother reminded me that one of the things I missed the least, basketball, could also become one of the things that continue to connect me with him, the Nuggets winning their first title.
The other day, I shared what I realized is one of my favorite stories to tell about my dad and how lucky I am to have that experience together. *See my blog post for the story
The theme I keep coming back to is it all comes down to Love.
How we give and receive love. How we're reflections of the ones we love and hate. What we express to each other and what we withhold. What lessons we learn from grief & love and how it's all interconnected.
That is the central message of The Lovers.
If you are feeling called to connect with this energy and allow it to show you deeper ways to give and receive love, I made you a simple yet impactful spread!
*If you're using Oracle cards, just use the card you feel has the closest energy to Love or The Lovers.
If you ever need more guidance and support,
I would love to connect with you and your spirit guides!
