"It is the Summer Solstice, also known as Midsummer or Litha. The Earth rejoices in abundance and light, and so do we."
It's officially Summer in the Northern Hemisphere, and I was inspired to share the energy of The Sun with you!
This quote from author & Witch @DeborahBlakeAuthor beautifully summed up the connection of the Summer Solstice with The Sun Card.
This Hermit Card is from the Modern Witch Tarot by Lisa Sterle.
People have observed & revered the Summer Solstice for as long as human history has been recorded, probably longer and celebrated by Pagans & Witches as Litha or Midsummer.
It marks the longest day of the year, acknowledging that the light outweighs the shadow until winter. It's associated with inner power and brightness.
Litha is observed with parties, dancing, foraging, communing with nature, and you know Pagans & Wiccans love a bonfire!
So celebrating the source of Light & Life on this planet gave me all The Sun feels. And the center of our solar system is technically a star, making The Sun card synonymous with Divine Light.
The sun gives us life, so it must be Divine.
The Sun Card is always a welcome energy when it appears in readings.
It brings light, abundance, happiness, rejuvenation, a new day, a fresh start, and a feeling of being connected with & emitting your inner light.
It can mean celebration, passion & fire for life, embodying your child-like excitement for your life, and receiving all the good things you've been manifesting.
When I get The Sun in reverse in readings, it means that something or someone is diming that person's light, preventing them from living the joyful life we all deserve.
